I found this fun little game here.
The rules:
A) Go to Music Outfitters
B) Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function and get the list of 100 most popular songs of that year
C) Annotate your list:
Bold the songs you like, italicize your favorites, do nothing to the ones you don’t remember (or don’t care about), and change the font color to red if you would lunge violently at the radio and break one or more fingernails trying to change the station as fast as possible.

That’s pretty cool. I got my list. Not too many I really hate. And lots of super songs from back in the day. My year has “Gloria” and “Dirty Water” and “Wild Thing” and “96 Tears”. Some fun!
Unfortunately, number one on the list is “The Ballad of the Green Berets”… oh well, they can’t all be winners, I guess… but number one???

I got my list today. Some very cool music on that list. Think I’ll see about getting all of (OK, most of them) on rotation in my office. Nice find.
My number 1 – The Way We Were. Ahem.

There were some great songs that I love to this day… some I did not realize were from my senior year in high school…such as:
House of the Rising Sun
Let it Be (Beatles)
Rainy Night in Georgia
The Long and winding Road
Evil Ways
The thrill is Gone
and of course the song I heard at everyones wedding and I HATED it!! was We’ve Only Just Begun by the Carpenters. and then the other one I disliked was Close to You also by the Carpenters.
Now the love song I loved back then was Green Eyed Lady…. go figure!!!

just went to the year I graduated from College … I did not think I would know those songs… so busy with a new baby, completing school, moving, but found that with the majority of those songs I still remember the words and have many of them somewhere hanging around in an LP in the shelving unit. Thanks for finding this – I am enjoying the memories.

I pretty much recognize 80% of my list. There’s not anything on there I really dislike. Fun!
